More “SHERM” Comics from the Pages of Popeye

Cartoon boy takes a dollar and makes more
From Dell’s Popeye Comics #20 April-June 1952. Last issue (Dell Comics Popeye #19) he was called “Sherm.” Now he’s “Sherman” and already looking quite a bit different than in the previous story.

Looking at this, it strikes that if Sherm was replaced by ashort, squat snoid--and that being the ONLY change--you'd have a R. Crumb comic. One of the more benign ones to be sure, but still...
