Brush Pen Doodle-Fest

I just love sketching with a brush pen!

I thought these photos looked cooler than just scanning the artwork...but it was a bit hard to keep my phone's camera focused.

I like sketching with the PITT Artists Pen (make sure to choose the "Brush Nib"), but I mostly use the Japanese Mitsubishi PFK205 double-sided brush pen which you can get from JetPens.com http://www.jetpens.com/Uni-ball-Double-Sided-Pocket-Brush-Pen-Fine-Medium/pd/2015

thanks for the links and sharing your sketches Sherm... I use a Pentel brush pen but am always on the lookout for new pens of all kinds(I think I have a problem) so I appreciate hearing about what other artists are using

Awesome stuff Sherm! The sketches look great. My pens of choice are Faber-Castell Pitt. I like to use the felt tip nibs, but, the brush pen gets a lot of work in my sketchbook! Thanks for sharing!

I'm curious what kinda paper/sketchbook you're using there.

Has a nice sense of random craziness, like the '30s artist Milt Gross.

BTW your tutorials have been a godsend to me, learning digital tools. Thanks! Still like throwing ink around, though.

Really cool sketches. I love using the Copic Mulit-liner brush pens if you can find them. And Pilot has a really nice double-sided one as well.

Hey Sherm, No Prob! I love looking at your work. I keep my sketchbook around me constantly. I like to "commercial" sketch. That's where I sketch during commercial breaks when I'm watching tv. It's a fun exercise and it reminds me to work loose and not over think everything. Your style is always inspiring to me!
