At first I was like "Frank Franzetta funny animal comic?" and then I saw the waves on the title panel and was like "There it is!"
ReplyDeleteI also love how he draws the squirrel tails.
Frazetta's humor stuff is far too overlooked. I love the stuff. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAlong with a truckload of other wonderful stuff (GEORGE CARLSON! GEORGE CARLSON!!!), there's a "Hucky Duck" story by Frazetta, from Barnyard Comics in 1949.
ReplyDeleteI like Frazetta's comic book work, but I don't go quite as crazy over it as others do... but his funny animal stuff could change my mind about that.

Uh... oops. I meant to say that that "Hycky Duck" story is in editor Craig Yoe's The Golden Collection of Krazy Kool Klassic Kids' Komics, from IDW's Yoe Books imprint, 2010. A terrific book, almost as good as editors' Art Spiegelman's and Francoise Mouly's The TOON Treasury of Classic Children's Comics, from Abrams ComicArts, 2009.
